What Is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a durable way to finish and protect metal. Instead of liquid paint, a dry powder is applied and heat-cured to form a tough, even coat. The result is a long-lasting finish that reduces chipping, corrosion, and wear.

Exceptional Durability

Reduces chipping, scratching, rust, and fading

Long-Term Cost Savings

Lowers maintenance and rework over time

Consistent, Professional Finish

Delivers uniform coverage and long-lasting appearance

Customization

Manufab provides powder coating in all common RAL colors, along with custom color matching to meet your exact specifications.

Faster Production Times

In-house powder coating streamlines the finishing process and helps reduce project turnaround time

Blast Booth

Our blast booth uses metal media to prepare surfaces for coating, which improves adhesion and overall finish quality

Why Powder Coating vs Paint?

Thicker, more durable finish than liquid paint

No solvents, minimal waste

Better edge coverage and consistency

Powder Coating + Fabrication Under One Roof

Manufab now offers in-house powder coating in Rexburg, allowing fabrication and finishing to be completed under one roof. Keeping both processes in-house reduces turnaround time, limits part handling, and improves consistency across every job. The result is a durable, high-quality finish that complements the precision of our fabrication work.

Surface preparation

Every part begins with proper surface preparation to ensure long-term coating performance. Metal components are thoroughly cleaned to remove oils, debris, and surface contaminants that can compromise adhesion. Our reclaim system supports a consistent preparation process, helping create a clean, uniform substrate ready for coating.

Powder application

Powder is applied using professional powder coating equipment to achieve even, controlled coverage. The electrostatic application process allows powder to adhere uniformly across flat surfaces, edges, and complex fabricated geometries. This results in a smooth, consistent finish with reliable film thickness.

Heat curing

After application, parts are cured in our 10ft x 10ft x 30ft curing oven. During this stage, the powder melts and chemically bonds to the metal surface, forming a hard, protective coating. The cured finish provides strong resistance to wear, corrosion, and environmental exposure.

Quality inspection

Once curing is complete, each part is inspected to verify proper coverage, adhesion, and overall finish quality. This final step ensures every coated component meets durability and appearance standards before leaving our facility.
